So I parlayed my trip to the meadowlands tonight to getting to sit in the box with Sam McKee and watch him do race calls. What an opportunity! Trying to think of some questions/pointers to ask. Ill definitely post pics tomorrow!

Hey Zippy, say HI for me.....And from one that was there on opening nite, I say that he is the best one to come down the lane at the Big-M....Best Harness calls anywhere in the world at this time in history...

P.S. and tell him that I still can tell who he has bet on, per his calls....We think alike handicapping wise, that is...

best,

Don't know him personally, but I agree that he may be the finest racecaller of harness horses of all time. Don't know how he can possibly do what he does. For ex., he's calling the action in the front of the pack, but when he gets to the trailing horses, he knows exactly what has been going on with them as well- "took an few bad steps and was forced to take back," etc.

His mix of editorial comment on the action and straight description is just right and the rhythm or fluidity of the call is perfect-pitch. I've been listening to racecallers for 50 years and he is the best I've ever heard.
