Is there anyone besides me that would really like to see Zenyatta make a start on grass after the Apple Blossom?

The synthetics (especially Pro Ride) play a lot like grass. She's so good on synthetic, I think she might also be a terror on grass if given the opportunity. I know it will never happen, but I'd love to see her ship to Belmont where she could race on a turf course with wide sweeping turns than she might like a lot more than some other turf courses.

Does anyone recall her ever working out over the turf course in CA?

I'd like to see it. I'm not sure how far down that road they'd go, or if it would be a good idea, but I hope they try at least one.

The Beverly D @ Arlington in August...perfect time, place, and course to try something new. And if the wine guy wants to re-establish his sporting cred, he could send his filly there, too.

I'd like to see the big mare attempt the grass. Her sire is a shuttle stallion I believe, so they're running on the green stuff Down Under.

I would like to see it as well, but my guess is that if was in the cards, they would probably wait until after a loss on dirt to try it.

She'll be retired long before. The only reason she was brought back will not likely happen. She's gonna go have babies. I expect that her last race will be at Churchill.

Send her to the Arc. Very little to lose, and a win would make her the legend of legends. She'd probably be worth more than the GDP of Portugal.

If she loses a race they'll probably try it. I'm a little surprised they aren't going to Meydan instead of the Apple Blossom.

I would like to see it and if she prove to be good enough I love to see her run in the BC turf race and win; and this would give her an immortal triple at the BC level, The Ladies Classic, The BC Classic, and a turf win.

mr. moss has stated that he brought her back this year "to have a little fun with her"......wonder what that means exactly? would absolutely love to see her give turf a try.

I'd love to see it. A couple generations back in her pedigree are some Euros that were turfers, so she does have the capability.

I wonder, have any horses won on turf, dirt, and synthetics?

Thinking recently...Einstein comes to mind.

I would love to see Zenyatta run in the Arlington Million. Don't know if that would ever happen but I can always hope.

Her damsire's Kris S, a given she'd take to grass. He's also damsire of War Chant and sire of Prized and Soaring Softly, all BC turf winners.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kris_S.

Excerpt:

Kris S. (foaled April 25, 1977 - May 7, 2002) was an American Thoroughbred (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoroughbred) race horse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_horse) who is best known as a highly successful sire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sire). He was a son of the 1972 Epsom Derby (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epsom_Derby) winner Roberto (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_(horse)) who was a sire of international influence descending from the Hail to Reason (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hail_to_Reason) branch of the Nearco (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nearco) sire line. Kris S.'s dam was Sharp Queen, a daughter of two-time North American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) Champion Sire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leading_sire_in_North_America) and seven-time Champion Broodmare Sire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leading_broodmare_sire_in_North_America), Princequillo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princequillo).

A highly successful stallion, Kris S. sired 63 stakes winners and had lifetime progeny earnings of over $50 million.

So if Zenyatta ran and won on turf, she'd be in rarified company. The Arlington is 1 1/4 which may be asking a bit much for a first start on turf. Personally I'd like to see her in a one mile on turf to see her run all out, like the Shadwell Turf Mile. Either way, that is what I'd call fun. Time will tell if Moss feels the same way. ;)

I think Lava Man won big on all three surfaces?

I'd love to see her travel the world racing in the longest races she can find, at 1 1/2 I doubt there is a horse in the world that can stay close to her, you pick the surface.

There isn't much that I can think of that would lead to me to believe Zenyatta wouldn't be equally as effective on turf. Perhaps more so...
