This horse ran two days apart at two different tracks. Beaten fave twice.
Amazing. He is out in a minute a Philly after a whopping 8 day layoff.

Will he be ready in time for the Apple Blossom?

I can't think of a worse bet than a closing type horse that couldn't win at Santa Anita going to speed friendly CharlesTown and Philly.

I don't follow Doug O'Neill, but are short layoffs something he is known for?

Back in the 60's it wasn't unusual for a horse to have 200 lifetime starts.
Nowadays, 100 means that he is an old workhorse.

Not really, but slots money changes how many play the game.

H.A. Jerkens used to run back to back days in NY, but haven't seen him do it in years.

You don't see anything like this anymore. Horses used to ride all night on a train, get off, work 4 furlongs in the morning, and then run in a stakes race in the afternoon.

That was before they became unionized.
