I lost that race with Guided Tour but never tire of hearing Durkin's call in that one. Awesome.

Another reason I liked NBC, besides the obvious, was they didn't stretch the races out over 6 hours like ESPN.

no doubt nbc covers racing second to none as far as story lines go... always feel that once the bc went to espn it really isnt the same..

some people dont realize this but one of the main reasons the cup left nbc was cuz of notre dame football :bang: they had to work out scenarios for the dates not to cross paths... im sure tom hammond would rather be at the cup then a syracuse nd game or even worse a washington nd game hahahaha

mike battaglia also does a great job for nbc.....ill say it again he takes way to much heat on this thread...

You owned Guided Tour? Cool, always like him. Good horse in my book. Wasn't his nickname "The Bus". Where did that come from?

I wish! Bet him and lost.

I think he was sold to a foreign entity after that race but not sure what happened to him.

Oh. Sadly he broke down in a race at Malaz racetrack in Saudi Arabia in December 2001. He was euthanized on the track.
