Super Saver givin Uptowncharlybrow 6lbs...I feel 1 may be outclassed, however, first off layoff......any thoughts here on this short field? Looks like it may be a watch only race?

pletcher's horse should waltz around as the pace. He isn't a special horse but he is trained up and he has won with the perfect trips and lost the champagne where it got too hot. Maybe public perception will be high on him after he wins again here?

Schoolyard Dreams is the 2nd best here. He gets a monkey off his back, but the main benefit w/ rose if there is one will be if Rose doesn't senselessly bid vs. a pace setter he can't beat and runs a strong second. He could always bid and weaken again. His only shot is to run a solid race and hope by luck the favorite falters.

Odysious is overrated, but is a solid 3yo allowance horse and is willing.

uptown charleybrown should get progressively worse from here.

The Tampa Bay Derby was one of the most exiciting races in a while .We will HAVE TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER DAY for another one of these. ouch : :blush:

Anyone catch the TVG feed after the race, before the photo was up? Simon Bray had Schoolyard Dream's owner right next to him. The guy grimaces and storms away and Bray says "Schoolyard Dreams wins the photo" and Schrup had to yell into the microphone "no, no, it's No. 7."

Tom, hes had paddock and gate problems so Seewald tried blinkers. I hope he takes them off next time.

In Uptown's defense Centeno had to take up sharply on the first turn. Charly wasn't beaten that much and the first turn trouble definitely cost him a few lengths. His connections don't have Derby Fever. They are pointing for races later in the year. They know hes green and needs maturing. I hope that you and everybody else writes this horse off, because I think he'll be in the winners circle in a Grade 1 later in the year.

Not an uptowncharlie fan, and I like Schoolyard better than Odysseus. JMHO.

Don't discount Tampa, that is one heck of a tiring track, and you can bet any horse coming from there will only improve once they get to Churchill Downs.

Dr. Roman gave O and SY -59 performance figures, that's excellent for that kind of tiring track.
If you want to interpret that ---- puts them in top 5 and above for PFs right now. Many horses have won derby with that.....as a matter of fact 6 horses since 1998.
