I stumbled upon his website today and in a PDF newsletter dated December 2009 (page 7) (http://www.google.com/url?q=http://docs.google.com/viewer%3Fa%3Dv%26q%3Dcache:iwXRCD6wUBMJ:www.edbain .com/DECEMBERNEWS.pdf%2Bequibase%2B-equibase.com%2Bmonopoly%26hl%3Den%26gl%3Dus%26sig% 3DAHIEtbST6PCJ4YyrUws7IpZquYwIrxroXw&ei=TDyVS92mG4SKNJy7kYkN&sa=X&oi=gview&resnum=7&ct=other&ved=0CCMQxQEwBg&usg=AFQjCNGEmBp2WGGYDV8IdngtMphCS6HlyA) it says he's offering a data service to compete with Equibase (and it's partners) and for much cheaper too.

I've emailed for more information but wondered if anyone here knows more.

* haven't seen this mentioned at PA yet, but apologies if a duplicate

More than a year ago (I can't recall, maybe much longer) there were some legal wranglings between Ed and the data source people because he was providing what was more or less reports from the data source data. I assume whatever issues there were must now be resolved. There were threads here on PA about the legal issues.

Hi ranchwest, yep I was aware of the case (I even think someone here said it was dismissed) but I hadn't seen anything mentioned on this new service.

In fact, digging around it seemed like Bain and his partners gave a 2-day course March 5-6 at Gulfstream and this was talked about too.

A few things in there that I hadn’t heard before. Interesting.

it says he's offering a data service to compete with Equibase (and it's partners) and for much cheaper too.So how did he manage to get around Equibase’s monopoly?
