Art Wilson writer for the Pasadena Star gives this rundown on St Trinians. What the heck does it mean? Can you blame for for complaining about writers and others for changing the language of the game that's been around probably 80 years longer than he's been around. Just a guess but you get the point.
St Trinians, a 5-year-old Piccolo mare bred in Great Britain, is undefeated in four starts in the U.S., including a 1<MD+,%30,%55,%70>3/<MD-,%0,%55,%70>4-length victory over 2009 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic winner Life Is Sweet in the Grade 2 Santa Maria Handicap on Feb. 13.

It looks like he tried to use hypertext to write 1 3/4 length victory over 2009 Breeders Cup Ladies Classic winner Life Is Sweet. For whatever reason he didn't proof read his own text.

It's the formula that computes the margin of victory.
In this case, it's equal to 1 and 3/4 lengths.

Thanks Greyfox, I hope your right. Speaking of proof reading, I should do the same.
