"Crafty Jack" race at AP

I remember a race at Arlington Park years ago. I think it was before the fire. I call it the "Crafty Jack" race because one of the horses was named Crafty Jack. As I recall, he didn't win the race but finished second. What was unusual about the race was that half the field had been scratched in the paddock. Crafty Jack was leading almost the entire race. The jockey, who had a huge lead, kept looking back to see if someone was coming up to challenge him. Ultimately another horse did catch up to him and passed him late in the stretch. The jockey of Crafty Jack did not utilize his whip at any point in the race. Allegations of a fixed race were made. The jockey of Craft Jack reported that he was instructed not to use the whip during the race. Anybody else remember any details about this race?
