Here's a Meadows selection that has a live shot at a price. Race 9: #6 Samuel Wade.

Horse has shown flashes of good ability on occasion. Developed a breaking problem but was just qualified with the hobbles. In that race, the track was badly off, possibly 2 seconds slower than normal. Samuel Wade finished 3rd but only behind an open trotter off a short freshening and a Michigan stakes' filly returning for her 4 yr. old campaign. In a field of moderate talent, he should be accorded a good chance to win and the price should be reasonable.

PS. As for Saranac Hanover. Biggest problem is that the horse walks out of the gate in a field that is loaded with early speed. Even with the rail, he figures to get away probably no better than 5th or 6th and may simply not be fast enough to handle the closing chore. But, as you say, he did show a sliver of life in cosing around much cheaper in last.

Just wondering. Did you know that your pick at the Meadows(3rd) was only 5/8ths of a mile? If so, how do they designate it in the past performances. With bris every race is marked as 5/8ths.

As to answer the question, yes lol, I did know The Meadows (5/8ths) is different from The Meadowlands (1 Mile). They are in different states, and have completely different levels of competition.

It depends what PP's you're using. I use trackmaster, and all 5/8ths mile tracks are written as 5/8ths. Most do this to help beginners. I mean if they were to put just the tracks' Abbreviations, only the usual horseplayers would know the difference. Trackmaster has a good deal of info in their PP's, so it helps alot!

He meant the race is listed as 5/8,not the usual 1 mile.

Final time was 1:09:2!

Should have explained better. The time was 1:09. Did you notice this? IT really surprised me. I'm normally a thoroughbred guy.
