Was it my imagination, or were those horses running as slow as horses can possibly run at the wire? That was pathetic, they looked like 5k claimers in the last 16th, i though i was going to die of old age waiting for them to get to the wire.

And did you notice,the slower the race the worse Battaglia calls it like a record at the wrong speed.

My co-worker is part of the ownership group that owns the winner Vow to Wager. His first year in buying horses. He is ecstatic. The race was slow, but he could care less. A stakes win is a stakes win. The horse could not compete against maiden claimers last year and in its last two races it has really improved remarkably.
