Just got this DerbyContenders tweet: Maximus Ruler also off the Kentucky Derby trail: http://startelegramsports.typepad.com/west_points/.

Not exactly a surprise but certainly unfortunate for the connections.

unfortunate for the horse and the connections, and me. Some people thought this horse was a stakes horse and he's off before I made any serious money off him(although he probably contributed to RTG's price in the Lecomte)
