Feds on Aqueduct warpath (http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/queens/feds_on_aqueduct_warpath_fcm1qH9OiurEHejXpgWVUJ)

This is what happens when non-profits and state governments are involved in a business that should be run by private companies.

Shocking, the federal government is now involved in NY Racing corruption and the slots.

Read the article. They are probing the slots deal, not the racing. NYRA has ZERO control over the slots deal

You mean non-profits like Keeneland?

Or nonprofit like:

"Jockey Club Racecourses operates a diversified portfolio of 14 racecourses in the UK. Its strategic objective is to be the best racecourse operator in Europe in terms of profitability and promotion of the best quality flat, jump and all weather track racing, thereby maximising the funds available for re-investment in the long term development of its venues and the sport in general.

Formed in 1964 with the objective of securing the future of racecourses for horseracing, Cheltenham was the first course acquired by the group, which was originally entitled Racecourse Holdings Trust.

The Jockey Club’s trustee ownership ensures that there is no distribution of profits to shareholders. Instead, profits are re-invested into racing."

Really sucks compared to Magna or CDI incorporated.

They DO NOT serve as the BOOKMAKER, like NYRA and Keeneland.

Maybe they should separate the racing operation from the wagering in this country that system seems to work real well for a good part of the world.

Horseracing in Nebraska has always been run by nonprofits. It work well for 50+ years. But now like horseracing everywhere in the USA, it is in trouble.
