NYC OTB is set to close down on March 31. Of course, this can change.

My guess is that there ends up being some type of consolidation between OTB and the NYRA, but I wouldn't bet a significant amount on it.

Get your money out of there. Consider opening a NYRA account or another local OTB -.Nassau, Suffolk or Albany. The place is a crap hole riddled with incompetence, overblown salaries and benefits. They need a total new business plan but they refuse to face reality. OTB is a cash cow but the meat has gone to the butcher.

Funny I just saw this thread after I read this:

I was doing a little research on something and stumbled upon that - a history of the NYC OTB's.

All I can say is wow reading that - gvt, unions, more gvt, NYRA, all fighting for slices, and increasing slices over the years.

Shocking, a private corporation tried to buy it, and the two most corrupt entities in the world NYCOTB, and NYRA fought it.

NYCOTB and NYRA are like two feuding mafia families. Somebody needs to just finish off both of them.
