at the new Calder Casino and Race Course. Stopped there tonight on the way home from GP, finally found a parking space, walked over to the Poker room, almost every table in use and the Casino was packed, this is 5:30 in the evening. Met one of the "suits" I know from Churchill Downs who told me the past 2 weeks have been way beyond their expectations. I am happy for Churchill Down and expecially CRC, the horsemen will certainly benefit from this.

Maybe they can lower the takeout to get back the horseplayers they lost and continue to lose when they raised them a couple of years back.

I wonder if the revenues from the casino will bail out CD from the clobbering they are taking in handle.

It is sad that subsidization is the only thing keeping racing going these days. People love to bet. Horse racing is a great sport to bet on......all horseplayers want is a chance to win in the long run.....just a chance.
