2nd Race.

Morning line is 15-1 on #8 Connywithay. WOW. This horse is extremely live and has an excellent chance to pick up a check. River Downs shipper has the Beyers to win this.

Had a good look at this nag and you may be on to something here

On sheer ability he stacks up quite nicely against the field on most levels

For best fig surface/distance-(lower is better)

Also--

After looking hard at the three horses with better numbers I have come to the conclusion that--

The 1 should be tossed due to it's bad post (rail in a 10 or more field)
The 2 has a shot after 5 wide trip at much higher class BUT was bought for 18k and is now in 12k?? Red flag
The 9 could still be improving(4 yr old in June) and is lightly raced.
May have won last race but bumped and forced out at the break and ran second.

Conclusion--8 has a shot at all the marbles but you may want to spread it out in all the pools

Good luck to us!

Just saw the race on Racereplays.com

Nice middle move at 12-1 and was in contention with a furlong to go. Drifted out and seemed to tire when it counted.

Might put this one in horse watch to play against lesser, seeing how the connections thought enough to ship with only one week left in the meet.

Would've like to have seen the paddock and race warm-up though.

You were right about the 9 (race winner). He was the one to beat, I thought he might be vunerable with all those layoff lines though.
