A big ol' NY Times article is about to come out about NY Gov. Patterson, and we're being told to be prepared to be shocked...

Well, no surprise here. As many of you recall, Prez Obama and top Dem. leaders have been pressuring the Gov. to NOT seek reelection. He has been DEFIANT to date...so leave it to the good ol' OBEDIANT N.Y. Times to do Obama's dirty work...yet again...

Well, I know one thing...if the NY Times ever needs bailout money, you can rest assured that Obama will deliver (as long as they come calling before Jan 2013... )

We do it without even trying, and you guys are always on the muscle, just can't let it go.

Listen New York, Cali is the most f'ed up state. No matter how hard you try -- you cannot match us, so just give it up and quit trying so damn hard.

High priced call girls, weird little jewish billionaires and blind black dudes -- I know, not bad. But we have Conan the Barbarian. That should be enough. But just keep pushing us, we'll top that too.

Patterson never saw it coming! ba dum.

Chick......you think you can beat us?
We are just getting warmed up. You won't believe how low we can go here.
We will make Conan look like Shirley Temple before we are done.
When it comes to dumb, NY will not be denied.

If'n a war is what you want, a war is what ye'll git.

Chicky, haul out the deficit chart of CA over NY. Then insert "Say Hello to my little friend"

Game over, Mr T.

Hey, PA and Chickenhead ,there is another state that is in the running. This little ditty appeared in the NY Times this morning.

"The Democratic nominee for Illinois Lt. governor has dropped out of the race amid a political uproar about his past less than a week after he won the nomination.

The nominee, Scott Lee Cohen, announced his decision Sunday night at a Chicago bar.

Mr. Cohen, a pawn broker and owner of a cleaning supplies company, won the nomination Tuesday. Since then, it has become widely known that he was accused of abusing his former wife and holding a knife to the throat of a girlfriend.

Several prominent elected Democrats, including Gov. Patrick J. Quinn and Senator Richard J. Durbin, had urged Mr. Cohen to leave the race."

I live in NY but this incident is giving our dysfunctional state government a run for the money.

Apparently, NY Governors just can't keep it in their pants these days....

I still say the NY Times is simply aiding Obama in his Chicago-style dirty game of politics, as Patterson won't obey his King and agree to not seek reelection so that a more "electable" Dem can be put into his place.

A very strong likelihood that this will be on my top ten reel of great political moments by the end of Oh-10.

Guy is in a sports bar with his kids and announces it during halftime of the Super Bowl. Kids begin to cry in earnesto.

That's as rich as Richardson saying "I'm not a scientist"

At least democrats when they get caught in a sex scandal have the good sense to resign. But republicans have no shame. I am still waiting for a republican to resign after a sex scandal, but I won't my breath. ;)

He cited as fabricated a Jan. 30 New York Post report that he was caught by state police in the mansion with a woman other than his wife.

He said the room in which he was reportedly caught doesn't even exist.

Question:How would he know ?

Mark Foley and Bob Livinston come to mind.

The republican scandals are run of the mill infidelity, toe tapping in a restroom, or sending a suggestive email.

On the other hand the democratic sex scandals are more hardcore. prostitutes or running a gay brothel in their apartment. and then you've got Bill Clinton whose work is the stuff of legends.

But I think Clinton would have done the honorable thing and resigned if he only had had a better handle on what "is" meant.

After watching the video of Scott Lee Cohen dropping out (thanks to Bigmack) I wonder how that warm, tingly feeling is working for Chris Mathews ??

Maybe Peterson's defense would be that some other woman was wearing his wife's perfume and he thought it was her?

I know, I know. It was just terrible. I just couldn't help myself. I... I... I... am... so ashamed.

I think I already used this joke a few weeks ago, when he was spotted having dinner and cozying up to a woman who was NOT his wife...he has a helluva excuse...blame it on the security detail's version of a practical joke!

Funny thing. No one mentioned Paterson being Dem in this thread, yet you & Goran  move down a partisan path.

she is a member of a swingers club or something..............

but Paterson has turned a blind eye to it...................

The very first post in this thread mentions democrats, and post 6 refers to "a more electable dem" for the NY gov. position. Just sayin'.

As far as dysfunctional gov't, I'd say Kentucky could give any state in the Union a run for it's money, even if it's not playing on the big-boy $$$ scale of NY or CA. And there is a long and storied history to prove it. Mark Twain once said, "if you want to go back 20 years in time, move to KY." And this is from a guy that lived in hyper-progressive Missouri  .

KY gov't is held hostage by the leader of the state senate, David Williams, who represents about 1700 people yet still manages to wield more power than anybody in gov't. He singlehandedly has stopped casino progress in the state for a dozen years, despite the fact that he goes to casinos in other states on a regular basis.

There are tons of other examples: taking more than 50 years to build a bridge across the Ohio River (still hasn't started); taking 15 years to paint a single bridge (again, not completed yet); etc.

I think everyone knows that. Although, from some of the comments made, I have a feeling that there were some posters who didn't know he is blind. For the record, I think Paterson is in way over his head as governor of NY.

This is perfect--just what Louisiana needs. We've got Cali and New York just a hammerin away at each other on the front end...hellbound...speed duel. Firing all your big guns.
And here we are just stalkin the speed and waitin and waitin for the right moment to make our move. When NY and Cali begin to tire from these early efforts it is Louisiana that will still have scandal to spare in the lane. We win this from off the pace....going away.

I still think that NY would be the favorite in the race. It was having scandals while CA, IL, and LA were nothing more than twinkles in some crooked politician's eye. ;)
