We're headed out west to play Turf Paradise. This contest is all about Return On Investment. So if you haven't jumped in yet, there's plenty of time and room for more of you big hitters to come in and show us a thing or two.

I'll post a little later.

TUP 02/09/10

R-2> #2 ONTIMEDEPARTURE has the top speed at the distance and has been improving the last 4. If I can get 6-1 on him it's $5 win and $15 to place.

R-4> #6 RUMBLE CREEK, best speed at the distance and best speed on the turf. If I can get 7/2 in this group of non winners, I'll take it.

R-6> #3 KID FAME, the favorite is going to be tough here but if I can get 8-1 on #3, I'll take a shot. Getting blinkers, improving late pace and jockey fits his running style.

R-7> #7 CADET BLUE, because that's the color of my upstairs bath room. lol. Seriously, hot trainer(34.64%) and lone speed. If I can get 3-1, I'll take it.

Good luck to all

Some notes about today's TUP card and my results:

* Someone emailed to ask why I didn't post conditional win bets for the UDM horses in R1...(#3 was a 17.20 winner.) Right before post time while I was formatting my post I took a peek at the value based numbers from my "Live Play Module"... and in a 5 horse field both UDM horses (including the #3 at 7-1) were underlays so I didn't bother posting them.

* IMHO, how players handle cards like today's TUP card can make or break you in the long run. Having the ability to resolutely pass when value isn't there (even if it means not betting and not following the races at all) is essential. There was a time years ago when I might have put together some "action bets." Over the years (school of hard knocks) I've learned to resist temptation.
