Did anyone watch Conan O'Brien last night. He is finding ways to tally up NBC's tab before he leaves. For the last few days he's been creating funny skits at the expense of NBC. So last night he came up with a 4.8 million dollar gag. Check it out. http://www.hulu.com/watch/122304/the-tonight-show-with-conan-obrien-most-expensive-sketch-ever

Can't it still be funny even if it's not real, which it isn't (real that is)?

Quite a funny bit, although obviously they didn't by KY Derby Winner Mine That Bird. That though, was probably one of his siblings, Flip That Bird.

The bit made Time magazine's top ten list of highlights from the late night wars:

The best part is that for that low of a price for a Derby winner, at least the purchase came with stud rights.

"Conan told the assembled crowd that the acquisition had cost NBC $4.8 million — a fraction of his own exit package, which is said to be as high as $45 million, but certainly enough to make Jeff Zucker and Co. squirm. At least the horse comes with stud rights. "

My husband told me about this and I said right away that I doubted they'd put an expensive thoroughbred like MTB on a stage. I was fairly certain they'd use a trained pony as a stand in for the shot. Well, I looked up a picture of the horse and bust out laughing. My husband asked me if it was really MTB. I was like, wrong breed, wrong color and just...no. He said he couldn't tell one horse from another and I just looked at him funny. How can you not tell a chestnut from a bay?
