Great move by NYRA. The best part is the OTB's will be crying that this will hurt their profits. They don't care 1 iota about their patrons, just their cut loot.
I sometimes wonder the intellegence of the racing fans that bash NYRA. No one can honestly say that cdi or magna could run those 3 tracks better, keeping both the horsemen and fans best interests in mind at all times.

I am really happy for you New York players.
Please support this. If you are any good at all, you can beat the races with a 13% take. "TAKE" advantage of this you NY folks.
Good luck to you all, and good luck to NYRA. It is actions like this that will keep horse racing from dying.

Gotta love it, especially with Saratoga just over a month away. You gotta respect NYRA for their timing.
Good news. I have to believe its tied to the slot machine agreement they got.
4500 slot machines ready to go at the BIG A by the end of the summer. You'd have to have been to Mohegan Sun and/or Foxwoods to totally undertsand how this will affect NYRA's takeout and handle.
At either casino, on a Friday and Satruday night they are three and four deep to play the slots. Foxwoods has 7000 slots. I'm not exagerating. You cannot get a slot machine at Foxwoods or Mohegan on a saturday. When I say 3 and 4 deep to get a machine. Its 3 or 4 deep. at Foxwoods 1/2 the crowd is Boston the other half is NYC people. Mohegan is 70% NYC people.
I'd love to see the revenue forecast for these machines. Maybe the vegas guys have an idea what the per machine gross and net might be.
