Anybody using Bris Premium Plus PP's ? I like the trainers stat and pedigree ratings. Not to excited about the Prime Power #.
If you do use them, what do you like most ?

I have been using the Premium Plus PPs for the past 8-9 months and really like them. They offer the best info/cost of any of the BRIS PPs. I just now developed a VBA Excel macro that can read in the DRF mult-file, comma delimited text files via PPGenerator and get the data into my handicapping magic spreadsheet (This is going to save me a lot of data entry time!). With PPGenerator, I can also print the Premium PPs in either full or condensed mode.
The Prime Power number is as good as any single number out there, but as a rule, I only use it to confirm/sanity check my handicapping. If a horse has a high PP# and is poorly rated by my handicapping software, I will give him a closer look just to be sure I didn't miss anything. But most often, I go with my numbers.
I too like the trainer stats and since I'm not big on 2yr old and FTS races, and believe that track bias most often exist in the minds of the handicappers.. I don't miss that information that I used to get when I purchased the UltimatePPs. The cost difference wasn't worth it to me. I usually play 3 tracks max per day so the unlimited same day pricing doesn't benefit me much.

You wnat an opinion of BRIS products and services?
I have no faith whatsoever in BRIS. I just cancelled my BrisBet account becasue they couldn't provide what they advertised-on-line betting and $100 credit for signing up. I am cancelling my silver membership today also.
BRIS is noting more than a bunch of computer people taking the same data base and creating all kinds of
silly report-products to sell. Their speed figures are based on totally inacccurrate par times and their data contains far too many errors to be of any real value IMO.
I have been with them since they started and I am finally realizing that they are just not worth it.
Before you go and use their trainer stats, you might want to check out a couple of things
1. Do they have a quality control department or do they just buy the data and process it?
2. How often are the stats updated?
3. If there are multiple spellings of a trainers name, do they adjust for that or just make stats for each spelling
(I know the answer to that one!)
I read an interesting post by Marc from DRF on another board about the DRF charts. The PDF charts go through what he called the QA process while other html (I believe) charts were just bought and sold and only glaring errors were fixed. It might be nice know from all of the data supplier just what their QA process is and what reports go through it and what ones don't.

Hope you didnt burn all your bridges....
ALL of these guys: TSN, BRIS, HSH, HDW, Massa's, ITSdata, DRF, and TrackMaster get their data from one place--Equibase, either directly or thru one provider or another.
I suspect if you find errors, and I am sure there are some, you are going to find them EVERYWHERE. Do you have any idea how tedious it would be to check every entry for correctness? Each track could be 900 lines long and 1000 columns wide. That's nearly a million cells to check every day every track...
The bottom line is we are stuck. As each new layer of provider introduces it's own errors, it would seem reasonable that the cleanest data will be found at the top.
