Racings slow death from allowing the fox into the henhouse has begun!Just read the story of how the legislators in pennsylvania would like to reduce by 2% the amount of money from slots revenues that goes to racings purses.Anybody closer to the situation in P.A. please weigh in with further details.

May not be a bad thing. In order to keep the same purse size you have to run fewer days which may lead to fuller fields and better betting opportunities. That sounds like a good thing to me, we dont need a track to run everyday of the year. Most betting is done away from the track now so sister tracks need to coordinate when they run and maybe even some circuts instead of running on the weekend run durning the week.

It's a done deal. Plus, the PA Gov is holding 1,000 state employee jobs hostage trying to get the legislature to approve table games at the slot parlors. If that happens, no cut for racing from the table games. If it doesn't happen, 1,000 state employees lose their jobs.

Probably because they want to phase it out.
