Sounds about right for Fed efficiency.

Less than 100 prisoners will yield 3850 jobs.

Almost 40 jobs per prisoner! If Durbin could, he'd have 15,000 jobs for less than 100 and have his finest moment as a Senator.

Durbin and Quinn were a total embarrassment to all citizens of Illinois earlier today.

With 40 guards per prisoner I guess the worries about safety for area residents are unfounded. :p
I think the 3850 jobs refers to a fully functioning prison. I believe that is the goal.

The thread "Rio got olympics; Illinois gets Al Qaeda" has been locked. (With good reason). A few of the replies referenced yours truly. I did not
have an opportunity to answer. I shall do so here.
1. No need
2. No room
3. I'm retired
4. I hate Ed McMahon.
Match the reply with the pertinent post.

When I went through the training for my civil service career field 30+ years ago at the now-defunct Savanna Army Depot Activity in Savanna, Illinois, I used to regularly pass by the prison in Thomson while driving south along the Mississippi River on Illinois 84 on my way down to East Moline, Illinois, to go to the now-equally-defunct Quad City Downs harness track. The jobs at the prison can't be a bad thing for that area, as long as security can be maintained.

In Oklahoma, they flipped a coin to determine whether McAllister or Stillwater would get the state pen. Stillwater lost and wound up with the consolation prize of Oklahoma State University.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a fairly new facility.

I stand corrected, but I sure seem to recall some sort of facility or complex (apparently not a prison) there at that time.
