More Hol complaining: Only 2 races with more than 6 runners today!

and those two are both Maiden Claimers.

When one owner was interviewed before a race on TVG, he was asked if was concerned about the race coming off the turf. His reply was something to the effect of "no, not at all, he actually probably likes the main track better, and isn't bred to like the turf as much as some of the others. We were hoping for the race to come off, have a few scratches, and hopefully catch a short field to make it easier to get a check."

I guess the owners must be loving Hol right now, while we are all bitching about it!

You are right!

I think it is fair to say, Owners,Trainers and Jockeys love short fields.

The customers hate them.

If you do not put on a show that your customers want, you will not be a success. ;)

Not sure about the Jockey's liking the short fields.

Certainly the top jocks would appreciate the shorter fields, but it's all that much harder for the ones struggling to get mounts.

Wouldn't be surprised if the short fields were a contributing factor to Stra going North.
