The pick six paid $80.00 today, I believe setting a record for the lowest payout in pick six history.

Anyone know any different.

Good Luck Tomorrow.

how much did 5 out of 6 pay?

probably just gave you a mcdonalds coupon and a pat on the back and sent you home.

Tomorrows card is filled with 5-6 horse races and that's before scratches. It looks like Lava Man is out of Native Diver stakes,so that field is at five right now. Man it's bad. Looks like the pick 6 tomorrow will be under $100 again.

I was hoping for a carryover.

Anyone know how many perfect tickets?

this day is just full of utter failure.

I don't know what's worse.

an 80 dollar payout or the fact that there were only 6 winning tickets with that little posbiltiies.

This day is a perfect example of why people shouldn't cry and complain about whales putting in 5k tickets and having this BIG (oh ho ho BIG) advantage over the little guy. Those guys put in their 5k ticket and got clobbered.

Something about the math has me befuddled.

There were 6 perfect that paid 80.60

There were 5, 5-of-6 that paid 5.80

The pool was 150,784

Chalk wins most of day.

What does that tell one?

Lots of really, really dumb whales, maybe?

But where's the rest of the money after takeout?

humm..

500 bucks to the winners (lol)

even if you spent 49 thousasnd dollars paying out 5.80. whcih didn't happen... that's still 100k left over. that's a 66% takeout.

these numbers seem to be correct though

$2 Pick 6, 1-2-5-4/7/9-6-4/6/10, paid $5.80
$2 Pick 6, 1-2-5-4/7/9-6-4/6/10, paid $80.60
Pool $150,784

I don't know about the bettors but hollywood park cleaned up today

...?

You have a right to be befuddled, the numbers provided make no sense. Something is being misreported here and I suspect it must be the number of winning tickets.

Regardless, this is a insult to anyone that plays the pick six,

$5.80 for five out of six, $80.60 for six out of six.

give me a break.

The mistake you guys are making is the 'way' that Equibase is reporting this pick 6. They think that horseplayers are SO stupid that they have to put '6 correct' after the numbers in their chart. This doesn't mean 6 correct tickets, it means they are just telling you that you need 6 correct numbers to cash the ticket. If you notice on the conso payout, it says "5 correct"

Equibase doesnt tell you how many winners, you have to figure that out on your own.

For the last 3-4 years Hollywood Park has had trouble filling races shortly after the Turf Festival & in between the Xmas break. It seems to me the Racy Secy could forsee this and force some trainers to reserve some horses for this three week span so that it doesnt keep re-occurring over & over.

Next week Sunday 12/19, the Hollywood Futurity is scheduled & I have to admit that I look forward to this race every year, because its given us horses like Sunday Silence, Real Quiet, Lion Hearted & last year PioneeroftheNile, but if only 5 horses go I'm going to be disappointed.

they could.. I don't know.. cut down to 3 days a week for a month. just a thought.

It's not a record. I hit the P6 at Churchill on 06/14/08. It paid $48. 5 of 6 paid $2.80. I think my total bet was $64 and I got back somewhere around $72.

People around me were laughing, saying I shouldn't cash it, but frame it.

I seriously doubt that anyone put anything even remotely close to that. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the whales stayed home. Whales don't bet into short field-laden pools and they don't bet into pick 6 pools with no carryover.

And I do remember a $45 pick 6 at Belmont a few years back. Five odds-ons and a second choice. Sad part with this Hollywood pick 6 is that it was three favs and three second choices.

Anybody that is playing the SoCal venues deserves what they get. SoCal is just ruining the game for everyone with their short fields. It's killing interest in the game and making betting a farce. I wonder what the average price for Pick-3's is this meet.

And then we get trainers who scratch because the rubber is wet. Whatever happened to "all weather"? Calling it a joke doesn't do it justice.

On the other hand, the Pick 6 on Thursday at Hollywood paid $38K. The odds of the winners were:

2-1 in a 6 horse field.

4.9-1 in a 6 horse field.

13-1 in an 8 horse field.

3-1 in a 10 horse field.

2-5, in a 4 horse field.

5.6-1 in a 7 horse field.

I would have thought the payoff would be more in the $1K to $3K on that outcome.

If you want to include Harness racing, Canterbury Downs in 1986 had one for $20.00

That's sad indeed . I can only imagine how the winners felt when they discovered they'd won $80 . Management at TVG should consider scrapping Pick 6 Central , I always felt it was a complete waste of air time , more so now than ever . What a joke .
