Lava Man may need this one...but I can't wait to see him on the track again...should be a great race, and I think it's a good 'omen' he comes back in the Native Diver...I'm sure everyone here is wishing him good racing luck and a safe trip!!

Wear and tear. Age overwhelms just about every athlete. Hope this one is not embarrassed.

And I hope you're embarrassed. ;)

Thanks for posting this link, TJDave...I'd read quite a bit on this subject concerning Lava Man...but this article is outstanding:ThmbUp: , and everyone should read it...and I had no idea they'd done stem cell work on Fu-Peg...then he goes and wins the Derby!!
I just think this stem cell stuff is incredible, and hope before too long, it becomes widely accepted (and the cost goes down) so that many more horses (and eventually, people) will benefit from it.

ZilZal...ever the pessimist...surely you don't think O'Neil would run this horse if he even had a tiny bit of doubt...jeeze:faint:

As a person with rheumatoid arthritis, I have read every study and the marked resolution of the disease using stem cells has been amazing. (I only hope that politics won't withhold this amazing regenerative therapy from those of us who suffer pain and debilitation.) I have a twin, who would be more than pleased to donate cells to me, I'm sure the match would be close to perfect, and he does not have RA. In rats, just asingle injection of MSCs prevented the occurrence of severe, irreversible damage to bone and cartilage.

I wish Lava Man all the luck in the world. I don't know enough about stem cell in horses but I'm curious to see the results.

Winter T...seems to me it's a miracle in the making (your twin got lucky, RA doesn't strike men often...I told you my mother in law had it, but thank goodness, she had 3 sons...they are fine)...I know your situation, so I also hope politics won't get in the way...which is highly possible...and the cost too...but the way this research is making strides, I think it'll be available to people sooner rather than later...let's hope I am right!!
Try going to http://www.thehorse.com (http://www.thehorse.com/) look around and I beleive you'll find lots of info there.
