If you like Chrome, you probably will like Chromium. Chrome is the google version. Chromium is the open source version, and currently its features are more advanced. There are nightly new builds.

I liked it, but I like all the extensions available for Firefox more. Has Chrome, or Chromium, been catching up in that area?

OK, put 'em up Chicky. You got my hopes up but they're still in development.

I'm confused... I installed Google Chrome as it was required for Google Wave.

Yet, I see know difference in my IE7 browser and see no reference to Google Chrome in my start menu. Where the heck is it?

Sorry I can't answer your question Dave, but I'd interested to hear what you think about Wave as you try it out. It looks promising for collaboration.

CB,

I am hoping to find someone to collaborate with that has it.

LOL - Would that be you?

I have been trying to get my guys to work together more for over a year.

DaveDave, I am a big fan of collaboration. A friend of mine had told me about Wave last week when I was in Vegas, and I just sent Google a request to get an invite just before I saw your post.

Google just released a bunch more new stuff today. Real Time results and Google Goggles (great name) are both going to be very very big.

The Real Time results auto-update like a Twitter search does, except they include not just Twitter, but regular websites as Google indexes them. For breaking news stories it will be absolutely fantastic.

An example RT result page:

the really good news is that at least with the 10 or so extensions I installed, Chrome does not appear to have slowed down one bit.

As you're required to harpoon Chrome Beta to DL the plugies it's now faster being this Beta sails.

If Google Chrome released anything to make the text bigger and recall the size you want for a webpage like Firefox has, I missed it. Otherwise I like the speed of Chrome.

JimJust like in FF (or IE), you can change the font size in Chrome by holding down the control key and then pressing + or - (or use the scroll wheel on your mouse).

Okay... I just got Chrome going.

Tell me - what is so special about it? The fonts do not seem as easy to read. My Google toolbar has disappeared. Can I get it back?

no toolbar in chrome. most things available through extension or built in (and some things probably just not).

the main pluses (to me) are it's fast, it's clean, and the omnibox gets incredibly smart if you search using it (spooky smart). And it is updated and improved upon rapidly. Bookmark sync across computers is built in, which is nice.

My main fear is that once anyone realizes Google has become self aware, well, it's really too late at that point.

But it does not remember. So next time I go to the same webpage in a new session, I have to do the same thing again.

Hi Jim,

I found this extension, I didn't try it but it looks like it will add the functionality you want (remembering zoom attributes at different websites)

Chrome is FAST and allows you to quickly return to any of the last 9 sites in a hurry as well.
