If this were a Republican in office, this story (http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/23/obama-wh-scrambled-for-story-to-smear-walpin/)would be huge. as it stands now its barely manages to hit the radar screen what with the JimmyCarterlike embarrasingly weak foreign policy foibles and war dithering, the out of control spending, the squandered stimulus, the ramrodding of economy-wrecking socialist programs through congress, and the numerous other payoffs, bribes and thuggish behavior.

But the unjustified firing of inspector general Walpin is a crime imo. As it turns out he was doing nothing but his job, and he did it well following up on misuse of funds. But little did he know when you're checking up on a personal friend of Obama's, you can expect to go down hard.

The evidence has come forth that this guy Kevin Johnson, not only was misusing funds but there were also several claims of unwarranted sexual advances (http://http//www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Exclusive-Congressional-Report-Rhee-did-damage-control-after-sex-charges-against-fiancee-Kevin-Johnson.html), oh and his fiance offered to pay one of the girls hush money.

The White House lied, they were not planning this firing for some time. They didn't even talk to the other boardmembers beforehand. In fact they made up the reason after the fact and then issued talking points to the board so they could handle the media. Only after the firing was announced and the talking points distributed did they even ask the board members for an opinion on the firing.

Where are all the media sharpshooters on this abuse of power? Oh that's right, they're so busy writing their Sarah Palin book reviews and hitpieces and groveling for the pole position on the Obama bootlicking grand prix, that they really don't have resources or the motive anymore to cover things that don't fit the hopeandchange narrative.

Byron York (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/New-documents-White-House-scrambled-to-justify-AmeriCorps-firing-after-the-fact-71483647.html)at the examiner is the only one covering it. If this were a Republican you can bet the spittle would be flying from the lips of Olberman and Matthews and the other members of the annointed state run media.

The new documents support the Republican investigators' conclusion that the White House's explanation for Walpin's dismissal -- that it came after the board of the Corporation for National and Community Service, which oversees AmeriCorps, unanimously decided that Walpin must go -- was in fact a public story cobbled together after Walpin was fired, not before.

Walpin was axed on the evening of June 10, when he received a call from Norman Eisen, the special counsel to the president for ethics and government reform, who told Walpin he had one hour either to resign or be fired. The next day, congressional Republicans, led by Grassley, objected, charging that Walpin's dismissal violated a recently-passed law requiring the president to give Congress 30 days' notice before dismissing an inspector general.

Pressed for the reason Walpin was fired, Eisen told House and Senate aides that the White House conducted an "extensive review" of complaints about Walpin’s performance before deciding to dismiss him. According to the new report, Eisen told Congress that "his investigation into the merits of removing Gerald Walpin involved contacting members of the Corporation for National and Community Service [CNCS] board to confirm the existence of a 'consensus' in favor of removal." But Republican investigators later discovered that during that "extensive review," the White House did not even seek the views of the corporation's board -- the very people whose "consensus" purportedly led to Walpin's firing.

What a shallow POS your president is.
He smells worse than five day old fish.

He should go to court and file for an injuction.

this was all discussed back in June. There is less here now than there was then. And that's saying something.
