I've only looked at the first four, but I have to agree that it could be chalky. No early pick 4 for me tonight.

Let's try a DD in Race 1 at Hollyworld
:1::2::6: / :1:First leg was pretty simple. This second leg I really didn't have much insight into. If I'd have put in a pick 3 I'd have used the two likely favorites (:3: & :7:) as my A horses along with :2: & :4: as my Bs. Usually, the best horse from the past doesn't seem to win for me in maiden claimers, I usually look for something to change, which is why I don't love my choices and couldn't argue with your use of the :1:. Going with the Meadowlake firster huh?

You got it...Meadowlake first timer..
The 3,4 and 7 have all ran close to par..The 7 is coming off a 370 day layoff and and 5/2 right now..The 3 has ran one good race in 4 starts..The 4 is the likely pace setterif the 1 doesn't go out..
After a second look..Small bet on the :4:..exacta box :1::4:

:4: / :6: eboxYour 6 with cmoore's 1 would have been a nice exacta! Glad I passed the pick 4 and the race. I had no clue and it showed. The horse pulling up didn't help anyone. Pretty good effort by the 1 for a firster in maiden claimer.

I needed the :1: to hold on, oh well there goes that Pick 4 ticket. I have the :5: in the HP Show Me The Money Contest but the prices is not worth betting this race.

Ugh, just finished handicapping the late pick 4, and I don't have very much to be excited about. I was hoping to find one race to find something to get excited about, but in each race, I either love the chalk, or don't have much incite at all. I usually look forward to Friday nights at Hol, but this one isn't doing it for me. I hope you guys are more encouraged than I am.
P.S. I haven't looked at Aqu yet. I probably won't get to it til early tomorrow morning.

I sit here reading shit about how ROSARIO is such a great jock. Here, rather than speed popping the field, he decides to rate. Throws a clear advantage out the window. NICE JOB.

Exacta box :5::9::12:Any of the firsters worth taking a look at in the last race tonight?
I'll take the 7 - 2nd start off the bench, shortening up. Steady works put in after states debut.
If the 9 wins this field truly sucks and/or she will be future graded stakes winner. Would think some experience & more ground would be best for her.

This Dance Master runner might be dangerous on the rail. She show 5 works since her last start..Second race with blinkers on and not much early speed in the race.

Any of the firsters worth taking a look at in the last race tonight?
The :4: Turbulence is the only firster that caught my eye..A bullet work on Nov. 6th..Broodmare sire gets a huge figure with firsters. I've narrowed that race down to the 1,2,4,6 and 10... Wow, that was an accompishment..LOL!!

Hope you had the trifecta..

Hope you had the trifecta..For the monster sum of $1!
& I agree that the early speed & the rail is something to watch. I'm not ready to give up on either, but so far the evidence is not too good. I thought your 1 should have been home free there.

No pick 4 for me tonight, so I guess I won't be making the score I wanted to so I could enter the $300 TS tournament tomorrow guilt free! All my As are right in line with the likely public consensus, so I'll pass and see what happens as we move along.
If I was putting in a ticket, here's what I had for my pathetic attempt (in the form of As/Bs):
5) :4::7: / :5:
6) :5::6::9: / :1:
7) :10: / :9:
8) :1: / :2::5::6::10:
I usually structure it where I need at least two "A" horses to win, and then depending on the horses I play the different combinations for different amounts. For example, if the bottom unit is $1, I play 2 A winners for a dollar, 3 A winners for 2 dollars and 4 A winners for 4 or 5 dollars. In this case, if you played it all for a buck, it would be a $91 dollar ticket (note: if you played all combinations it is $120 I think), and if you played it for 1,2, & 5, it would be a $150 ticket.
Good luck to anyone who is taking a shot tonight!

Wow! I have a hard time finding that one, even after the fact. The Singletary pedigree is the only thing I guess I could point to against a field that didn't appear overly strong?
Glad I didn't play a ticket I guess. :rolleyes:

6) :5::6::9: / :1:Bob Benoit needs more pace to run at than there was in this race. I thought the 1 ran a pretty good race, rating a bit behind the frontrunners before running tough down the stretch, just not able to hold off the 5.
Result: 5-1-6-9

What a painful night at Hol. No real opportunities for me to take a swing. It was grinder night, trying to manufacture value with some low price overlays. Always good fun, but only a little in the black for the night. Oh well, live to fight another day.
Good luck tomorrow everyone.
