win/place: Use more capital for less overall profit. This will make your bankroll fluctuate less but it is a fake when copared to win only wagering.

place or show only betting : Percentage disadvantge as pools are shared with 2 or three horses.

Notice I do not list exotic wagering on this format because I am not very successful with this format.

I agree with all of your characterizations regarding straight wagers, which are in line with the philosophy that anyone who is skilled enough to make consistent profits with straight wagers other than win betting would make even more money by betting exclusively to win.
