Thank you.

As this was on Proride, and Beyer now uses some type of modified scale for poly, are these figures lower or higher than what he will report? I presume they will be different.

I would assume his are higher, but I really don't know.

As I had suspected, most races (and all of the biggest ones) had faster paces than speed figures. It almost always happens when the big money is on the line, even on synthetics.

Yes. "Jockey panic" on a speed tiring track will do that.

I find it interesting that some of CJ's figs are exactly what Beyer came up with while some are off as much as 6 points. I didn't factor in the distance, however. Only 5 of 14 really jump off the page as I see it.

I wonder if our allegiance or distain for a particular speed figure camp has something to do with success or failure? If a neophyte hung in there with Beyer and over time became a winning player, it stands to reason that player would think highly of Beyer's method.

I don't think Beyer can be knocked for trying to improve his figures. He's had to rework both his turf and synthetic numbers. He just rolls up his sleeves and tries to figure out what went wrong.

I don't know what would make Brisnet or CJ's numbers better than Beyer's; it's all too exhausting for me. :)

I know that is how it works for me. I'm always hearing that bris figures are crap and I can tell you that I'm not about to change to any other.
