Just some stuff for comments.

how the public is doing.

In the most prevalent odds range of >=2.45 to 1 and <=3.5-1.

In 100 sets of about 135 horese per set, 10% of the sets returned a profit.

30% of the sets returned a loss of less then 10%.

26% of the sets returned a loss then 30%.

In that previous post the line
"26% of the sets returned a loss then 30%line"

should read

"26% of the sets returned a loss GREATER then 30%"

10% of the sets returned a loss of less then 10%.

7% of the sets returned a loss GREATER THEN 30%.

This is basic handicapping knowledge that most people picked up when William Quirin explored these questions in 1979. Have you read Winning at the Races? It is out of print, but maybe you might find a copy at your local library. I recently picked up an extra copy at Half Price Books (my copies are not for sale).

Ranch, actually some of the studies I have read go back to the early 60's, perhaps ealier.
The 1st time I ever saw something like this was in Rowe's article in American Turf Monthly.

I just enjoy doing my own work and in more detail then most.
Of coures If those guys had access to all that we have, I'm certain they would be just as detailed.
