I am not a big West coast person, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the trip from the plane ride to the hotel accommodations and absolutely the Breeders’ Cup races.
I wrote in a post on the forum before I left for the BC races that I was going to the races to see Zenyatta in what probably would be her last race and she didn’t disappoint. Last year when we visited the BC races at Santa Anita it was an in and out visit and not too relaxing, but this time we kicked it up a notch and we are enjoying the stay (until Tuesday).
One quick observation about the BC races and non-BC races; the payoffs were terrific. I believe of the 19 carded races for the two days, 11 of the 19 winners paid $10.00 or more and that made my handicapping a little more challenging, but a little more profitable.
I am looking forward to Churchill Downs next year for both the Derby and the BC races.
