How's your's?
___
I get The Times that covers the N. CAL East Bay. Probably around 1M in distribution.
___

I just went through todays sports section. NOT ONE WORD about the Breeders' Cup. NOT ONE!
Lots about the pro's - college - high school - fishing and the standard 1/12 of a page for Golden Gates entries and results...but not a word about the Breeders' Cup.
___
I called the sports editor and bitched. He said...
** "We probably didn't give it enough play this year." - - - DUH!!! :bang:
___
Outside of Los Angeles and Kentucky... Did anybodys sports page give a solid amount of attention to our sports biggest day?

We had an article in The Oklahoman about Asmussen trying for the training record at Remington Park even though he probably hasn't been there a day this meet. Not a single mention of the BC though.

My newspaper sucks everyday, I wouldn't even think about looking for Breeders Cup coverage.

The Contra Costa (and West County) Times had Chuck Dybdal, a big racing guy, for many years. He may be with the Daily Rat Fink now ...

Actually the Chronicle had two articles today:

Trainers cite change from dirt at Breeders' as detrimental (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/race/6706272.html)

One of my 2 jobs is for a Chicago suburban newspaper. Not 1 word about the Breeders Cup all week.

The Oregonian didn't give any coverage last year and probably wont this year. I had a meeting with their sports editor and he said

"We have had to cut our budget with writers severely and we're only covering Blazers, Ducks, Beavers, and high school sports"

however we were lucky enough to get a newswriter who caught on to the track and she did some feature stories.

Here in Nebraska we get feature stories on 2nd string linebackers and 8 man football. Almost no national sports at all. Thank God for the USA Today and the internet.

I'm in Lincoln too. Trying to figure out how to make it from the track to the stadium quickly today...

They actually gave the results today from yesterday's races , had a lengthy article , and gave today's lineup . The paper in general though is a piece of trash and a shell of its former self when it had to compete with the Post . The Monday and Tuesday editions are about the size of a paper you would find for a city of 50,000 . The business section is a joke , without even a separate section on those two days .
