Ever get one of those calls about your car warranty?

This place is a scam complete with Rusty Wallace doing their commercials.

They tout that they're 'faith based'. The owner is building a $18M home outside St Louie.

We've had extended warranties twice and both have paid like clockwork when we needed it.

With the first one we turned in a $3k claim a week after the warranty was purchased and they paid. (We had paid only the initial depost of $100.) That vehicle turned out to be a bit of a lemon and over a 28 month period our $1,250 investment in the warranty paid out over $11,000!

The second one, which we have in place now (different car), has had only one claim and it was paid without hassle.

FWIW, the company is called Mepco and they are based in Missouri.

The Republican car only goes right and then only in reverse. The GPS confuses the Appalachian trail with Argentina. The engine makes a loud clanking noise. They are working a model powered by hot air which talk radio will sell.

The Democratic car is stuck in neutral and will only turn left when pushed. It takes 60 senators to push it, but getting all to push in the direction is a problem. The engine makes a whining noise on the few times they can actually get it started. They are working on a model powered by red ink.

We thought cash for clunkers was the ultimate waste of taxpayer money, but as usual we were too optimistic. Thanks to the federal tax credit to buy high-mileage cars that was part of President Obama's stimulus plan, Uncle Sam is now paying Americans to buy that great necessity of modern life, the golf cart.
