Lawrence Jones of Muskogee said he and several friends used to regularly take $1,000 into local casinos at least four or five days a week and come out winners.

No more, he said. He noticed the payback going down almost two years ago.

"They need to have a required payback,” Jones said.

They don't let people know, because by law they don't have to.

The following made me do a search on slot paybacks:
In Kansas, the Kansas State Gaming Agency oversees Indian gaming. Four Indian tribes each operate one casino, said enforcement officer John McHatton. The state requires each gaming machine be programmed to pay back 80 percent, he said. "In Nevada, all gaming devices (slots) have a minimum payback of 75 percent, but it is usually much higher than that,” said Mike Wilson, chief legal council for the Nevada Gaming Commission and Control Board.

From Wire Services

Here is what I found. Vegas is around 92% payback.

I spent one night in an Oklahoma casino. I usually play a little black jack, but I found out they make you pay an "ante" for each hand of black jack. I think it was 50 cents per hand, but that was enough for me to not play a single hand. I played a few races in the race book and didn't spend a nickle in the casino.

The point is, I'm not surprised they don't pay back much from slots. It is criminal they don't have to tell the public the actual payback.

Side note...I don't believe the slots guy played four or five nights a week and came out a winner.

Side note...I don't believe the slots guy played four or five nights a week and came out a winner. The first time I went to the Winstar I sat down at a blackjack table and the dealer asked me if I wanted change for my $5 chips. I didn't understand why I needed them, so he explained that I had to "ante" each hand. After finally getting that through my head, I then realized that it wasn't even really an ante, it was a fee. I played 3 hands (won all three) and left to the poker room.

As an aside, the Winstar has totally remodeled and reopened their race book. I haven't been in there, but at least they still have one.
