Does anyone know what date the inner track opens and close at Aqueduct. I am interested in purchasing historical data and result files from the 2008-2009 Aqueduct season, can anyone recommend a source.
thanks

EQUIBASE (among others) now has FREE historical charts. Just sign up and download them. But don't use the name 'Herman Munster'; it's already taken.

FREE is good.

I'm sure some would be able to hook you up with the meet dates for last year.

If my memory serves me correctly,it is right around thanksgiving time.then it closes about april 1st or so then their is a 30 day main track meet and off to belmont.Speed along the rail did not do as well as normal on the inner track last year.

Thanks very much The FatMan, and Fm Wolf ,I am looking for the PP and result data files for 10/26/08 to 4/26/09, Speed is usually a dominant factor at Aqueduct inner track but an analysis of the data would be an accurate barometer

3 Aqueduct meets:

Fall Meet (Main Track & Turf)

Inner Dirt Meet (Normally only Inner Dirt, but a turf race or two have been carded early in the meet now and then if weather is great)

Spring Meet (Normally Main Track and Turf, but have had instances where all dirt races moved to Inner Dirt Track early in the meet when problems with weather and/or main track condition have occured)

Yep, the move is on right now, so you would be lucky to get ahold of much of anyone until Wednesday. As a rule of thumb, at least at the moment, the inner starts the week after T'giving and ends at the very end of March.

Thanks Steve StaTMan, I just wanted to mention that a few days ago on my way out of Belmont Park, I met Mylan Studart, she is absolutely drop dead gorgeous, I was literally shocked when I saw her, I never realized that she was so beautiful. I went over and introduced myself to her, she is from Brazil and originally a Model, she does not get the best of mounts but she gives 100% no matter the odds, she will be riding by Friends horse again at Aqueduct "Stephen Got Even", he will be at long odds because of the off the board finish in his last start at Belmont but look for him to run a big race when they drop him for $7500, I will be in the winners circle.

Typically they're on the IDT from the week after Thanksgiving through the end of March. The main track begins the week of the Wood Memorial, I believe.

Are you sure the horse is Stephen Got Even, because that is a former Zito trainee that has been standing at stud for a few years. Could you be thinking of Stephen's Rhythm, the horse Maylan rode for Richard DeMola last out?

About Maylan, she did a little modeling on the side in Brazil since purses are so poor there. But her focus was always to be a jockey and thats why she came to the US.

Hi PostPicker,
You are absolutely correct, the horse is Stephen's Rhythm, trained by Richard Demola a recent claim for $1600, he ran okay for $12500, prompted the pace but just had nothing left for the stretch drive, watch when they run him back for $7500.
Maylan should get more mounts at Aqueduct as she is more popular with the Aqueduct trainers, dont be afraid to bet her when she is on a longshot, she tries her best to win

inner track opens 12/2, I can't wait. I'm glad they are back at the Big A from a handicapping standpoint in my view.

I'm glad they are back at the Big A from a handicapping standpoint in my view.Usually the rail is golden for early speed.I did not find that as prevalent last year.I have always enjoyed good success their as well on the main track and the inner track as well. It's a shame they have let the old place get so run down.I remember it when they hosted the breeders cup...It was a lot nicer then.

Yep...Right around Dec 1st...According ot my NYRA calendar there is a one mile stake race on Nov 27th...
That distance is unavailable on the inner dirt track...
I consider the trasfer of racing to AQU's inner dirt track thwe beginniong of T-Bred racing's nuclear winter....

I'm a little to young to recall the breeders cup there but I learned to handicap Aqu in particular from my father who was lights out back in the day there. He has lost his touch a bit but I've picked up right where he left off. It is a shame it is so run down. I wish they would fix it up but I guess the only way they will do that if slots are installed.

Philly installed the slots and the only major addition was the HDTV on the infield. During the time they put it up the turf course was smashed by the crane so they added a little dirt and painted the remaining grass an odd shade of green. PP also just finished opening the drainage system which should help with the poor rail conditions, so I wouldn't get my hopes up at the big A for any quick refurbishing but it would be nice to get rid of all the bird droppings and fix a few ceiling panels in the clubhouse restaurant!

We raced against Stephen got even at the Meadowlands in a nw1x he beat us by a neck in 2007, I saw him at Gulfstream a few months later but haven't seen him since.

This really was a product of weather and track maintenance technique. Early speed would rule when the temperature got down below freezing for a couple days with no rain. However, maintenance procedure has changed and the track runs very fair now almost always, which is good from a competitive point of view, though it does take a way some of those sweet big scores with cheap front runners.

Hello OneFast99, great hearing from you a fellow NY horseman, actually that was an error on my part when i said Stephen Got Even, I actually meant Stephen Rhythm, but yes I do remember Stephen Got Even, so what is the name of your horse that ran against Stephen Got Even.

Yes it does play a bit fairer now across the board but early speed along the rail on the inner track still holds a good edge ..although para mutually now everyone is on to it....They will have to fix up the infrastructure of aqueduct if they install a casino their.Their is no way any casino operator would offer their product in a building in such a state of disrepair. That is the main reason why i want the slots installed so maybe aqu. and bel. will get much needed sprucing up.Belmont needs it as well if they want the 2012 breeders cup.

Belmont interior is def run down. They need to spruce up the grandstand. Geez would a new coat of paint kill them! Track itself and outside of Belmont is still the most beautiful.

Agreed! HRTV showed the complete NBC broadcast of the 1985 Breeders Cup, and it brought back some very good memories. I still dream of the day they clean up the place and bring back the Cup. In fact, I'd take a Cup at the Big A over the Cup at a syth/polycrap track anyday!
