Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850s ATA device

It failed so I tried to repair but that kept failing so I uninstalled it. Windows updates were failing because the driver didn't work.

Have a Sony Vaio model number VGN FE890N

Running Windows Vista Business.

Need to find driver to download. Can't seem to find it.

If you just google "Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850s ATA device driver" you will get a number of listings of repairing it.

Also, I didn't look at any of them, but you probably would find the driver there.

I'd contact Sony or Matshita to get it if not.

Use system restore to go back B4 you uninstalled the driver, then roll through this:

When I downloaded it and I got to the end it said I had already downloaded it.

I restarted and tried the updates again and they failed again. This never happened before.

This is a copy and paste of the failure message:

Skip that. Try manually downloading the update:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=98d7c4ab-f8ca-4806-a609-453fb29b02ec

If that doesn't work I'm lost.
