Some odd happenings at this small track before the start of the late p4:

They delay the start for quite a bit of time before the 7th race, announcing changes in the distances of the 7th and 10th races from 5 furlongs to 4 furlongs.

Then an announcement that the late p4 was being cancelled.

Anyone know what prompted these changes? And is this a first for a certain pool being cancelled due to race distances being shortened a furlong? It's not like there's an off the turf issue at Delta...(there's no turf course!)

Then all trainers are advised to contact the racing office "as soon as possible".....ok what's going on here and how long do patrons have to be kept in the dark? Come on Boyd Gaming...are you looking to scare away patrons? Nobody likes a shady racing product...

There was a bad spot between the 5 furlong gate and the area where the main track starts. So they didnt want to run the 5 furlong races because the track was bad so they ran it at 4 furlong races. They cancelled the Pick 4 because the bettors handicapped the 7th and 10th race at 5 furlongs not 4 furlongs. They were being fair to the bettors and they made the right decision.




Do you really think they wanted to cancel the Pick 4? They get 25% off the top hell no they didnt want to cancel.
