Picks for Belmont Monday:
R1 #8 Wintrhop House-Barn wheels him back quickly after the claim last week. Earned a competitive fig routing on the turf as a 2yo so he should be tough here.
R2 #3 Shopit-I have knocks against the ML favs here. This one has some decent efforts sprinting at BEL. Her first try this yr off the layoff was a troubled trip. She should get an honest pace to run at here at a price.
R3 #5 Dattts Lady Di-Her 2 wins came when she was able to establish a clear lead early, a very likely scenario today. Seems to run well fresh, and trainer/jock doing very well together.
R4 #8 Tizsilk-This barn has really turned this one around. He will get first jump over the ML fav and will be tough in the lane.
R5 #1 Book-Looks like the lead is for the taking here, and he should be the one to take it. Fig from his last race is actually competitive in this group, and double digit odds make him very attractive here.
R6 #9 Kitty Nip-She's run some of her best races on the BEL dirt, and hasn't run this cheap on the dirt yet. Expecting better today.
R7 #2 Tall Poppi-His best races come on this oval. Seems better as a sprinter so this move makes sense. Should have a lively pace to run at here.
R8 #9 Miss Catlyst-Had no chance last out when the winner ran a ridiculous last quarter. Sports a win on this turf course and should be right in the mix here.
R9 #9 Hoppsey-Returns from a long layoff for a new barn that does extremely well with fresh runners. Her first 2 races compete very well figwise with these.
R10 #2 Meese Rocks-Figures to get the lead and the job done today. Last effort was a damn good one even though she got caught.
