NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Most people think they pay too much to Uncle Sam, but for some people it simply is not true.

In 2009, roughly 47% of households, or 71 million, will not owe any federal income tax, according to estimates by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.

Some in that group will even get additional money from the government because they qualify for refundable tax breaks.

So the federal government has determined that 47% of the households in the country don't pay taxes.

Now, it's time to fess up. Raise your hand if you don't pay taxes.

A simple  if you do and a simple  if you don't.

The right to vote should be hinged on your responsibility to pay taxes.

Do not owe and Do not pay are two different things.

"47% do not owe".

If you have withholding, you pay. You may get it back BUT YOU PAY.

The Obama people ( questionable on the species) plan to have the lower tax brackets pay negative taxes, in other words, they GET PAID for being non-contributors!

Much like Barry and his babe - two well paid people who do nothing and never have. Leeches.

I don't pay federal income taxes, I am not a federal citizen.

If you are going to allow this kind of garbage to influence your thinking, maybe if you still can think, you should also read the 1984 Grace Commission Report. Where it was reported 25 years ago that not a nickel of what people pay in federal income taxes goes to supply/fund any legitimate (per Constitution) functions of government.

People pay all income taxes, articles such as this are total bullshit. If you don't make enough to pay the income tax in particular, you are paying 15% in socialist security taxes (another income tax), 3.5% medicare (another income tax). You are also paying every dime of income tax on corporations since the cost just gets added to the goods and/or services you buy.

All income taxes that are getting paid are being paid 100% by people. It is not complicated. The entire system is a scam for your cash, don't worry everybody is paying plenty.

Maybe you should invoke your rights Tom. So that the leeches can't get any of your cash. But, if you are going to stay in the system, get used to politicians spending your money for you.

Cheer up, when you get on the socialist-security dole, you'll have 5 or 6 of your neighbors grandchildren chipping in out of their EARNINGS to send you a check every month. Then you get to be the leech.

What other rights can I purchase from the federal jurisdiction, Tom? Is there a price list in the Declaration of Independence? Maybe somewhere in the back.

If one does not expect to owe any income tax, a provision exists on Form W-4 to opt out of witholding.

That is the box you can check if you are exempt, like me. Of course you are warned that you can not check that box, "UNLESS YOU ARE SPECIFICALLY EXEMPTED BY LAW".

That is designed to intimidate you to think that you couldn't be specifically exempted by law.

The joke is that almost everybody is specifically exempted by law. And, if an IRS guy asked you to produce that law, you could. It is the same law that limits the federal jurisdiction. It is called the Constitution. It works great.

The income tax scam is the largest fraud ever perpetrated.
