They became our friends again when the French voted out the socialist leaders that hated the U.S. For clarification, the socialist leaders that hated the U.S. and not just the idea of Bush.

Sarkozy just expressed what every major world leader is thinking, but doesn't want to say. Obama is woefully naive and dangerous.

Are you poised to eat these words?

Rich material from Sarkozy: If the President of the United States is not going to lead 'The Free World' it's not going to be lead.

Sarkozy is the first to break the news. Stay tuned for further updates!

support for a country that just a short while ago cause the birth of "American Fries" and boycotts of French wine. To think all it took for them to be forgiven was one man to criticize the elected President of the United States.

It seems your French President has some ego himself being 5ft 5 inches he wares heeled shoes and stands on hidden flat -forms . In order to protect his image he filed suit against a VOODOO DOLL MAKER, he lost the suit. What an EGO!!!

"Lead the free world or it won't be lead", let me interpret. " France is not going to send any of its young people around the world to die so the United States must continue in its roll as world Shogun". Enough of this inviting people to sit down to talk out their differences. France has spoken, well at least its new Napoleon has spoken.

Let Europe spend their money and lives policing the world, France won't even join in. Last time I remember the French they were passing the United States at the airport they were leaving and we were coming in. South Viet Nam if I'm not mistaken.

They haven't been in any wars since then and the United States hasn't missed any. Obama's not the only one naive in the United States.

Yeah, the French. Always great to see the right quoting them about anything. They always want to bury the hatchet, but you'd better IMMEDIATELY go to the mirror to see if its planted in your BACK !

Some old chestnuts about these two faced hypocrits...

You could have heard a pin drop................

JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when President de Gaulle decided to pull out of NATO.

De Gaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.

Rusk responded "does that include those who are buried here?
De Gaulle did not respond.

You could have heard a pin drop.

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?'

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?'

You could have heard a pin drop.

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, 'Maybe it's because the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'

You could have heard a pin drop.

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...

Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
"You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."
The American said, 'The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !"
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to."

You could have heard a pin drop.

Not that I care what the rest of the world thinks....but its not just the american public who thinks Obama is a joke now.

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) – The United States is the most admired country globally thanks largely to the star power of President Barack Obama and his administration, according to a new poll.

It climbed from seventh place last year, ahead of France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan which completed the top five nations in the Nation Brand Index (NBI).

"What's really remarkable is that in all my years studying national reputation, I have never seen any country experience such a dramatic change in its standing as we see for the United States for 2009," said Simon Anholt, the founder of NBI, which measured the global image of 50 countries each year.

He believes that during the previous administration of George W. Bush the United States suffered in the world ranking with its unpopular foreign policies but since Obama was elected, and despite the recent economic turmoil, the country's status has risen globally.

"There is no other explanation," Anholt said in an interview, referring to the impact of Obama.

Umm Hcap.....nice try. But, I wasn't referring to "admiration" as in a movie star. I was referring to Obama's ability to get things accomplished through that same admiration. he can't even get his OWN party to pass healthcare when they have TOTAL (60 votes) control of congress.

Cause he is a pushover????
We will soon find out. Here's an example of why I think ....Wasn't it three or four days ago when he gave Iran a DEADLINE of two weeks to allow inspectors in?
And wasn't it just in the past two days that Irans president said they would allow inspectors in on OCT 25 (seems a bit more then two weeks). Iran is and will continue to test the waters to find out what they already know. NO SUBSTANCE.
Now before all you left wing libs start asking me "what should he do,"? I did NOT make the deadline. Obama did.
I was brought up to believe that a man is only as good as his word. Obama has already proven time and time again with slips and trips with the tongue that he is not to be trusted. And, I would further add that's why I believe a HUGE majority of congress, on both sides of the aisle, need to be gone come next election.

We have been through this before. Pa off topic today is off the wall 24/7 anti Obama. When I went after bush most off topic posters were rah rah pro-war pro-bush, pro-republican. No comparison. Then I and a few others were outnumbered 4 or 5 to 1.

Now we are still outnumbered, except it is 10 or 15 to 1, along with the moderator-not always able to separate his political leanings-one of the 10- from fair moderation. But as I have said, my posts are generally a few days a week. When I have time.

Amazing how much off topic has lost it.

What's the point of banging my head against a wall of nonsense. The time I used to spend debunking, would now be many times more than what used to be necessary. Unlike many on the right, I generally research the issue instead of posting ONLY opinion, or so many half baked rants. (Whatever happened to the birth certificate issue??)

Don't believe for a minute I am totally in the Obama bag. There are criticisms that I do agree with. However I am to his left, and criticize him for not being left enough.

Time that would be required to argue is better spent helping myself and others with programs.

The minute Obama or the left shows any serious signs that their power grip may be slipping, you can COUNT on HCAP being back in FULL FORCE, along with all his other minions.

Nothing has changed here in off-topic, other than hcap now feels he needn't work as hard now that a liberal is in the White House and the Dems control Congress.

Just wait until the big elections start drawing closer...you can bet your bottom dollar that his amount of off-topic posts will be in direct correlation to how badly the Dems are polling at the moment.

It's quite sad that hcap has resorted to lies and distortions about off-topic in order to justify his once maniacal, non-stop rants at the Bush administration, Republicans and anyone else who disagreed with him.

When the medicare cuts take place next year, it will be the dems who are sentencing people to die.

And why is the whole HC reform not making effect until AFTER the 2012 election?

IF it is so dire, why not act incrementally NOW? Fix what we can immediately and help as many people as we can incrementally?

Why wait for the whole thing while medicare cuts go into effect two years prior?

Come on guys, let's look at reality here.
