Jockey Joe Talamo worked Kentucky Derby winner, Mine That Bird, for trainer Chip Woolley this morning (9-29-09) at Santa Anita.

Little horse looked pretty good to me...I wonder if Woolley isn't using Joe for works so that maybe down the line somewhere, if Calvin isn't available, Joe gets the mount?

I think so too, Mary...the more I see and hear of young Joe, the more I like him...I still feel very sad for him that he lost his Derby mount, and would love to see him on another 'big' horse. He's a talented kid with quite a bit of class...IMO:)

Borel's ride in the Derby on MTB was one of the best ever. Day in and day out he may make a mistake but at Churchill Downs you have to strongly consider anything he rides.
