This is what Hillary said was behind all of the "false" allegations against Slick Willie. That nasty ole VRWC is back again. I love that term.

First, right after the November elections, all we heard was "THE RIGHT WING IS DEAD...REPUBLICANS and CONSERVATIVES are DEAD."

Now, the DEMOCRATS and this PRESIDENT can't seem to get ANYTHING accomplished, despite having this "MANDATE" and "MAJORITY IN CONGRESS."

And now comes the dreaded "RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY."

Like DDOG says, all politics and all(well, most) politicians are JOKES, and this line from Clinton is unbelievable. I thought Clinton was supposed to be a smart guy...you know, Rhodes Scholar and all that jazz.

This "right wing conspiracy" line makes him sound like an idiot just like all the others.

That's because he is an idiot, or a diot, which I believe is the Canadian spelling.

No Slick Willy is a sly man. He floated the idea a vrwc to deflect the true source. Slick Willy has his sights on Obama he pulls the strings and blames the outcome on the common enemy.

Now that the Lion of the Senate is no more, Obama is a sitting lame duck for the Clintons'revenge.

Looks like Garry Trudeau might be apart of it.
Did you catch Doonesberry today? Wow! Pretty serious cartoon.

Are you guys totally misreading the cartoon, or am I totally misreading you guys?

The cartoon, to me, lends support to Obama by mocking his opponents who have compared what he's doing to socialism, communism, Hitler, etc.

Obama's response to Nazi parrallels is to give a speech. How Hitleresque.

How do you read it?

I read it as mocking Obama as a speech will cure his problem. In other words an empty suit.

The last line gives it away: "understandably, current parallels are frightening," meaning, you'd expect Obama to be doing what the Nazi's did, illustrated in the previous frames. But alas, all he's going to do to try and "remake America" is give a little ol' speech.

In the second frame, he wonders if he should use force. In the last frame, we see his "force" is to give a speech, quite unlike the "force" used by the Nazi's in the other frames.

That's how I see it...

I can see that too. It is sort of intentionally vague. No matter how you interpret the relationship of the National Socialist party to the last panel, the punch line shows Obama's ineffectiveness. His prior speeches have failed to persuade and yet he is ready to give another speech, instead of leading.

I see it another way. There are those on the right who have compared Obama's manipulations to the early moves made by Hitler. I think GT is putting us down rather than putting Obama down.

I agree with you. Trudeau is mocking those who compare Obama with Hitler by contrasting the means that Hitler used to achieve power, and the ensuing result, with Obama attempting to overcome opposition by giving a speech. I read the non-dialogue comments in frames 3-8 as being Trudeau's, not Obama's.

I never said anything was confusing. You must be confused.
I do find Peanuts refreshingly intellectual after reading some of your posts, though. Especially Snoopy.

Yup, all rational folks equate Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity to Ahmadinejad, Chavez and Gadhafi (it's amazing how many different ways that guy's name is spelled by legitimate news outlets...you'd think they would be able to all settle on one spelling... ).

The hyperbole and delusions continue on the far left...and as their brand of thinking becomes more accepted and mainstream, this country becomes that much closer to falling off the cliff.

People who endorse this kind of thinking are sickening.

Quagmire, how can you honestly sit there and endorse a cartoon which attempts to equate the actions of three murderous dictators with three guys who talk on the radio for a living?

Are you this out of touch?

Standard BELL curve (Gaussian distribution) is true in most observations of social strata: that would mean the the VAST majority of people are somewhere between the 2nd standard deviations on most things and BOTH ends of the political spectrum, both far left and far right, represent the smallest numbers of people.

Well, that was relevant and enlightening.

Well, that was relevant and enlightening.
Yet the REALITY of that doesn't stop people from missing IDEAS and quickly assigned them to one radical arm of that distribution without every evaluating the IDEA over the mouth it came from.

If the Rutabaga himself ever came up with a statement (That is one we could understand through his mumbling verbal dyslexic verbiage) that had any intrinsic value, I would have to agree with him on that. Hasn't ever happened.

So the three guys in the cartoon are murderous dictators and Hitler was a leader of a nation.

Hey didn't Hitler bring the Olympics to Berlin in 1936...Check out what Obama is trying to do now to emulate der fuehrer. :D

Dick Morris is laying the attacks on Obama at the Clintions' feet too. The vrwc ploy is a misdirection to fool Obama's supporters about the real source of the attack, the Clintons.
