Several posts were made in 2007 and 2008 concerning this organization. Just curious why they haven’t caught anyone we are constantly accusing of using performance drugs.

Founded: 1945

Budget: $2,000,000

Description: National investigative bureau financed by the Thoroughbred Racing Associations (see separate entry). Conducts character investigations of racing licenses and of applicants for positions in racing. Investigates reports of malpractice. Maintains fingerprinting and horse tattooing program and requires that member tracks keep fingerprint records of all officers, officials, employees, and racing participants such as trainers, jockeys, exercise boys, and grooms.

Conventions / Meetings: annual meeting - always February.

The Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau operates as a national investigative agency in the horse racing industry. Its mandate is to expose and investigate all activity prejudicial to horse racing and to maintain public confidence in the sport of both Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing.

Since this organization and other similar ones exist, why has there been no known completed investigation by these organizations to the main issue that concern horseplayers, which is performance enhancing drugs, used in horse racing. They seem to be snooping into every other facet of the game, including you and me if we threaten the integrity of the sport.

I’ve wanted to do a search on this organization since I read how they were involved in the investigation of allegedly fixed races by jockeys, several of who were suspended and banned from racing until their day in court.

Here is a few of the issues they have taken on that is listed on their webpage.

In 2006, the unit launched its “Betting Analysis Project,” which collects and analyzes wagering information on a near-real time basis from TRA-member racetrack associations and identifies wagering events requiring further investigation. Here’s a link to a story at Bloodhorse.com

As part of its overall work, TRPB maintains close liaison and professional interaction with local, state, and federal law-enforcement authorities nationwide in its effort to develop intelligence concerning unethical persons and criminal operations potentially injurious to the Thoroughbred sport.
Beginning in 1947, TRPB initiated the lip-tattoo system for identification of Thoroughbreds for race-time purposes.

Through the use of a distinctive “parallel cluster” lip-tattoo die brand designed and patented by TRPB, the Thoroughbred industry is provided with the most effective, practical, and economical method of horse identification available today.

The real truth (I will be investigated for this one) This agency was formed to give cushy jobs to mentally challenged (slow) relatives of the "Blue Bloods" in this Sport.

There's a rider at Golden Gate who criminally stiffed horses on back to back days a few days ago and no one said anything.

I'll fall on the floor in shock if i read that this guy is getting a fine or suspension for lack of effort.

But, just like always, i file this away in my memory bank and hope to profit financially somewhere down the line.
