I was bored and downloaded the first season from iTunes. I have one comment and one question, after watching the first episode.
Comment: Is is just me, or do Trevor's fake race calls annoy the hell out of everyone? I'd rather hear the real call.
Question: I think Gryder says that of the $75 he gets for a mount fee, he clears only $18 if he doesn't get purse money. I'm just wondering what the other costs to him are? I don't doubt him, I'm just curious about a jockey's costs. I'd guess that would have to include insurance, as well as paying a paige or someone in the jock's room, but I have no clue what else. I thought maybe one of you guys (or girls) would have more concrete info.
