The best person for the presidency [who didn't make it or didn't run] in the last 30-40 years? My choice- Alexander Haig.

didn't he try to take control there for a few minutes when Reagan was shot?
I think he said he was in control anyway.

seriously though, I always liked general Haig. He would have been a good president.

Right. When asked who's in control, he said "I'm in control".

Strongly disagree on this one.General Haig was very much a part of the insider elitist establishment. He was taken under the wing of Henry Kissinger,a man that I have always been hostile toward, and groomed for power.Only moderately conservative,he is a member of the power wielding semi-secret Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Haig is the guy that Reagan removed from Secretariat of State because Reagan couldn't stand his combative nature and backhanded manuevering, which Reagan saw as a huge threat to the stability of his cabinet. There is a good description of it in The Reagan Diaries.

As power greedy as both of them are/were, I bet there would be some legendary throwdowns in the Oval Office.

Second choice, Bernie Madoff, he'd smile while he took our money.

Looks like he and the government have a lot in common. Both are thieves. Both are con artists. And both will smile while picking your pockets. I'd suggest locking the government up too, but the state has become so big now, there aren't enough big houses around to contain all the crooks.

DAN Quayle. No one knew who he was when RR picked him for VP. RR knew that he was a good conservative. I believe that he picked him thinking that he would carry on his work. The Libs were so frightened of that prospect that they and their MSM cohorts assinated him for his spelling and other quirks. They painted him as a buffoon when, in reality, he was quite capable. We recognize the same fear and tactics in their treatment of Palin. Too bad we didn't see it for what it was back then.

My second choice would be Jerry Litton, the Missouri Congressman who was killed in a plane crash on the night of his primary victory for Senator. Even though Jerry was a Democrat, I supported him. He was a fiscal conservative. While he wanted to help the have nots, he realized that you couldn't just write checks on money you didn't have. He probably would have been about ready when the Senior Bush reneged on his promise not to raise taxes. Would have been far better for this country than the Clintons.

It is really too bad that old George didn't pick this guy to run with him so they could go down in history as the stupidest duo in history.

I can recall how indignant he was about the Murphy Brown Show. What a klutz!

Litton , yes.

Qualye, lightweight.
RR/Nancy picked him because he was a zero. Zero cared who he was in that election.
Even Nixon came back from much worse.

Time has proven d.q. to be a nothing.

you may be somewhat anti-war. BUt Obama is following the same policies as Bush regarding the war. No outcry from you about Obama's idiotic foreign policy.

Oh but wait there is a difference. Obama has a different policy regarding Israel. And there is more. You said its time for the U.S. to stop trying to police the world. Incidently that would include stopping U.S. protection of Israel.

I originally thought you were a hypocrite, based on your anti-war stance involving Bush and your silence toward the same war policies under Obama. You are even worse an anti-semite pretending to be a humanatarian and a proper citizen of the world.

Your true motives have been exposed. Your irrational hatred of Bush policies are rooted in Bush's staunch support of Israel. I am sure to you that makes him a clown, ignorant, etc and even the devil.

As Obama would eloquently orate without a prompter, You er, um, and, mmm, should, uh are, you um know what I mean, a sad, uh, mmmm, hateful person, whew.

correct.

RR/NAncy picked him for Bush.

Bush never gets in without the NAncy support.
He was a hand maiden and a poor one at that.
D.Q. was a sop to the "hard-right" who never trusted the Bushes(for good reason).

You are correct. I posted before I researched. Sorry.

Now, I remember that I disliked the RR pick of the elder Bush as I thought he was a bunch too liberal for my tastes. Let me be the first to say that in that context, the DQ pick logic I posted makes no sense. Hmmm.

As soon as you sense any sort of threat to "your side's" power trip, you'll be back posting in full force.

Then again, why would you want to bring attention to the fact that Obama's approval rating continues to head steadily south...I mean, you RELISHED posting this kind of info when Bush was prez...funny how that works...

You don't see me constantly harping that the UNEMPLOYMENT RATE continues TO RISE UNABATED, do you? But if Bush were still prez, that's all you'd be posting about...that, and the MASSIVE DEBT we keep piling on...

You're stone quiet about that as well...suddenly, Obama's got your tongue...why am I not surprised?

Really wishing you could have given that insight to hcap from the years of 2000 to 2008. He unmercifully subjected us to every and any poll that justified any progressive idea.

Glad some sanity has returned regarding polling. Mostpost confirmed pollsters skew the polls to satisfy the party commisioning and now you declare them meaningless.

Next time hcap posts one of those meaningless polls, please share your insight with him. I am serious.
