Picks for Belmont Saturday:
R1 #3 Persian -- Stats show that Dutrow wins at a higher percentage when dropping off a claim so drop doesn't seem too suspicious. Barn doesn't use Albarado much, but they have a decent win % together.
R2 #4 Quiet All American -- Very likely to be a runner. Sales topper has some noteworthy drills and barn/jock have been doing well together of late.
R3 #1 US Cavalry -- Had eventful trips in his 2 starts off a very extended layoff. Goes to new barn and sports a noteworthy drill in the interim. Barn does OK with claimed runners.
R4 #3 Grande Annee -- Earned a decent fig in her first start stateside. Had a bit of trouble while chasing a fast pace, and a move forward off that might give her a big piece of this.
R5 #7 Sunny -- Barn has done well with laid up runners in limited starts. She showed a bit of talent in her first lifetime start on the sod and obviously went very wrong in her next start.
R6 #11 Rocketing Returns -- Sire of this one has excellent first time turf stats. Makes second start with barn that does ok with first time turfers. Price play here.
R7 #4 D'Wildcard -- Drops to all time low for good barn. Should be tough in this group.
R8 Pass. ML fav looks tough here.
R9 #9 Worstcasescenario -- Hasn't done anything wrong yet. Low price expected here.
R10 #12 Livin Large -- Modestly bred runner has shown a liking for the turf. Had a troubled trip last out and still ran well last out. Should be right in the mix here.
