Oxymorphone is a Class 1 violation, which is for the heaviest infractions in racing’s five-class rating system. The national guidelines call for loss of purse, a fine, and suspending the trainer for one year or more, unless there are mitigating circumstances.
When did we get national guidelines? I thought every state had their own rules. Did the NTRA or some other source ever come out and say that a trainer should get a one year suspension for a Class 1 violation? I might have missed it.
So, is Texas following any national guidleines in handling the current Asmussen fiasco?
