some belmont stats

I have 81 current belmont races in my data.

39 of them were won by one of the top ranked trainers for a dollar profit of 20%.

29 of them were won by one of the top jocks for a dollar profit of 23%

Question, what post position (1 to 8) returned a dollar loss of 28%?

81 races, all at varying distances, doesn't mean much...my guess anyway, the rail.

These top trainers were profitable in all races <= 1 mile

These top jocks performed best at > 1 mile.

Interestingly, when the Top trainer combined with the top jockey for a race, they only returned a profit of 3 cents on the dollar.

Talk about too much of a good thing.
