Description
The sixth title in the popular Racing Post Expert series.
All-Weather racing started in Britain in October 1989, at Lingfield. Since then this new type of horseracing has grown in popularity, along with the quality of the racing. There are now five All-Weather tracks in the UK, at Wolverhampton, Lingfield, Southwell, Kempton and Great Leighs, Britain’s newest racecourse, as well as at Dundalk in Ireland.

Although the approach to winner finding on sand remains basically the same, the idiosyncrasies of the new surfaces need explaining. Form shown on the turf should be used sparingly in trying to predict the outcome of a race on sand. Written by acknowledged expert, known as 'The King of the Sand', Dave Bellingham author has been studying racing on the All-Weather since its start, and has accumulated a wealth of data and statistics on how to find winners.

Since these race tracks are made of different formulas of Poly, Cushion, Tapeta or Pro-Ride, they all have different cushions and drainage systems, and then, ADD to the fact that their maintenance schedule and actions are NOT the same, HOW IN THE WORLD can one come to ANY UNIFIED concept of their tendencies.

Lots of gullible people in this world thirsty for answers even if they are bogus.

European all weather tracks are a different matter: there is some uniformity in them.

Maybe if you read one of the books, you might have a clue about what they talk about. You assume they give a unified method to cover all. The ones I have read do not. But don't lets facts get in the way of a good rant.
